Türkiye and Israel normalize diplomatic relations

Turkey and Israel are normalizing diplomatic relations. The two countries have decided to mutually appoint ambassadors. Turkey and Israel have decided to normalize diplomatic relations. Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced in a statement in Ankara that they will appoint an ambassador to Tel Aviv. In a written statement from the Israeli Prime Ministry's Office, it was said, “Following the agreements reached during Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s visit to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Ankara and his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as the positive developments in Israeli-Turkish relations over the past year, the two countries have decided to rebuild full diplomatic ties.” The statement read, “The developing economic, trade and cultural relations between the two countries will contribute to deepening relations and strengthening regional stability.” Relations between the two countries resumed with Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit to Turkey in March. Herzog was the first Israeli leader to visit Turkey since 2008.
