Automotive exports fell in August

According to the data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OİB), the automotive industry’s exports in August decreased by 6 percent to 2 billion 269 million dollars. In the January-August period of this year, automotive industry exports increased by 4.3 percent to 19.6 billion dollars, while the average monthly exports in the first eight months were realized as 2.45 billion dollars. According to the data from the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OİB), the automotive industry’s exports in August decreased by 6 percent to 2 billion 269 million dollars. The sector, which ranks second in Turkish exports, also had a share of 10.6 percent. In the January-August period of this year, automotive industry exports increased by 4.3 percent to 19.6 billion dollars, while the average monthly exports in the first eight months were realized as 2.45 billion dollars. OİB Board Chairman Baran Çelik: “Despite the decrease experienced last month, our exports were above the August average. “We recorded double-digit increases in the Bus-Minibus-Midibus product group, along with the Supply industry, which exports the most. Our exports to Spain, the USA and Poland also increased by double digits.”
