Limited fall in inflation in the UK

Inflation in the UK recorded a limited decline in August. Economists had predicted some decline in inflation in the country due to the decline in oil prices. Annual inflation in the UK was recorded as 9.9 percent in August. Economists participating in the Bloomberg survey expected inflation to be 10 percent. In July, inflation reached double digits for the first time in 40 years at 10.1 percent. Monthly inflation was 0.5 percent in August. The expectation for this data was recorded as 0.6 percent. However, the increase in core indicators continued. Accordingly, annual core inflation was announced as 6.3 percent in August. The expectation was for core inflation to be recorded as 6.2 percent. Core inflation was 6.2 percent in July.
