The regulation to increase the lowest retirement salary was passed by the Commission

The bill that foresees the minimum retirement salary to be increased to 7,500 liras was accepted in the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee. With the amendment made to the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law, the 1,100 liras paid to those whose income and monthly payments are made on the Ramadan Feast and Eid al-Adha will be increased to 2,000 liras, provided that they receive income and monthly payments in the month of the holiday. The monthly minimum payment amount, which is foreseen as 5,500 liras on a file basis for retirees and beneficiaries who receive old age/disability/death pensions, will be increased to 7,500 liras. The bill increases the duration of employing temporary workers in line with the needs of institutions. Accordingly, the working periods of those working in temporary job positions can be extended up to 11 months and 29 days within the same visa period. The ministry to which the administration, institution and organization are affiliated or related will be authorized in determining this period. Temporary workers employed by administrations, institutions and organizations will be transferred to the vacant permanent worker positions in these workplaces based on the length of service they have spent in the workplaces where they are employed. An additional payment will be made to ensure the wage balance between specialist physicians and personnel in medical cadres or positions employed in public institutions and organizations. A new article was created for the proposal in the commission. Accordingly, the retirement pension granted to security guards and their beneficiaries in the event of their death will be a minimum of 7,500 liras. Commission Chairman Cevdet Yılmaz explained that with the acceptance of the proposal signed by himself and AK Party and MHP deputies, the annual cost of granting a minimum retirement pension of 7,500 liras to security guards is approximately 1.2 billion liras. On the other hand, with the accepted proposal, regulations were made regarding the effective dates of the articles of the proposal. Accordingly, the regulations regarding combat veteran pensions, pensions granted to their relatives in the event of their death, and retirement pensions of security guards will enter into force on the date of publication, effective as of April 1, 2023. The article regarding the increase of the minimum retirement salary to 7,500 liras will enter into force on the date of publication to be implemented as of the April payment period; the articles regarding the personal rights of members of the higher judiciary will enter into force at the beginning of the month following the publication of the proposal, the article regarding the specialist physicians and personnel in physician cadres or positions employed in public institutions and organizations will enter into force on the 1st of the month following the publication, and the other articles will enter into force on the date of publication.
