Airfryers and deep fryers removed from surveillance

According to the circular on amendments to the circular on implementation of surveillance on imports published in today’s Official Gazette, airfryers and fryers with a unit customs value of less than $100, which were included in the scope of surveillance with the circular published on March 23, have been removed from the list. The list of electrical home appliances for which import surveillance will be subject to change was changed with the circular published by the Ministry of Trade on March 23. The Ministry of Trade had announced on March 23 that surveillance would be implemented on the imports of certain electrical home appliances with a unit customs value of between $10 and $200 per piece, starting from April 23. According to the circular on amendments to the circular on implementation of surveillance on imports published in today’s Official Gazette, airfryers and fryers with a unit customs value of less than $100, which were included in the scope of surveillance with the circular published on March 23, have been removed from the list. The regulation also detailed the surveillance application for kitchen mixers with a unit customs value of less than $10, and included those with a volume between 3 and 10 liters and a unit customs value of less than $80 in the surveillance application. The changes will enter into force on April 22. The surveillance application in imports is defined as a regulation established by the Ministry of Trade to be able to conduct inspections on imported goods in order to prevent the introduction of a product into the market in quantities or conditions that will harm or threaten to harm other producers in the market.
