Highways and bridges are free on the Sugar Feast and April 23

Due to the Sugar Feast holiday and April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, there will be no tolls on highways and bridges under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM). The decision in question does not include build-operate-transfer projects. The Presidential Decree regarding free passage on bridges and highways during the holidays was published in the Official Gazette. According to the decision, except for build-operate-transfer projects, highways and the July 15 Martyrs' Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge will be free of charge from 00:00 on Thursday, April 20 to 07:00 on Monday, April 24. Urban public transportation in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir will also be free of charge during the holiday. Starting from 00:00 on Friday, April 21 (the night between Thursday and Friday) until 24:00 on Sunday, April 23, Marmaray, Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro, Başkentray and İZBAN services, as well as public transportation services provided by municipalities and their unions, institutions and businesses, will be free of charge.
