European leaders to meet in Prague

The European Political Community (EC) meeting, to which all 27 European Union (EU) countries and 17 non-EU European countries have been invited, will be held on October 6. The leaders of the countries on the European continent will come together for the first-ever European Political Community (EC) meeting in Prague, the capital of Czechia. The meeting, to which all 27 European Union (EU) countries and 17 non-EU European countries have been invited, will be held in Prague on October 6. The invited countries other than the EU countries and Turkey include the United Kingdom, Norway, Ukraine, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Switzerland. French President Emmanuel Macron put forward the idea for the EC in May. Macron’s proposal involves the establishment of a political formation in Europe that is broader than the EU. This is not considered a new international organization but rather a "political discussion platform." The new platform aims to discuss many issues such as the effects of the war that began in Ukraine after Russia's attack, security and stability in the European continent, energy, economy, trade, transportation, investments, and infrastructure. Zelensky is also expected The group is expected to come together at the leadership level every 6 months. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to attend the first meeting of the AST in Prague via video conference. The leaders will come together at noon. Roundtable meetings will be held afterwards. The roundtable meetings are planned to be organized under the headings of peace and security, energy and climate, economic situation, migration, and transportation. It is envisaged that the leaders will hold bilateral meetings, and that a closing meeting will be held with dinner after the meetings and discussions. It is not expected that an official declaration will be issued or official decisions will be made at the end of the first meeting.
