More than 17 thousand robots are producing in Turkish industry

With the development of technology, the global industrial robot market size used in the industry is expected to exceed 70 billion dollars by the end of this year. In our country, more than 17 thousand robots are operating in production. Roboder Board Chairman Murat Yarış stated that industrial robots have great importance in increasing efficiency in production, reducing costs and increasing quality to higher levels, thus providing a more competitive structure to the sector. While the increasing labor cost in the world and the challenging competition between developing countries direct many companies to use industrial robots to increase their efficiency, the global market size of the sector is expected to reach a volume of 70 billion dollars by the end of this year. Answering BloombergHT’s questions, Robot Integrators and High-Technology System Manufacturers Association (Roboder) Chairman Murat Yarış said that more than 17 thousand robots are operating in production in our country. Stating that these figures will increase rapidly in the coming years, Roboder Chairman said, “At least 5 to 6 times the multiplier of these technologies, which we call industrial robots, gain added value through robot integration and create value in national economies. First of all, robots, which came to the forefront in sectors experiencing a shortage of qualified personnel, started to be used in welding processes. Later, robots also started to take their place in assembly and transportation processes and in jobs with high repeatability. It is now possible to see factories using robots in many areas from the food sector to the electronics sector. Turkey is a serious and remarkable supply center in terms of supply of robotic investment equipment in many sectors, especially the automotive and packaging sectors. Our flexibility, skills and the solutions we offer in production in these areas will take Turkey to the next level in terms of supply of high-capacity investment lines on a global basis,” he said. Regarding the roadmap to be followed in the Industry 4.0 transformation, Roboder President said, “We can say that the development of the systems used in the transformation of the industry and the latest technology are directly proportional. If our most important priority when making an investment decision is to present a competitive product, the systems we design require many routine and repetitive jobs to be done almost flawlessly. It seems more logical to us that state supports are now shifting towards high value-added jobs and competitive products that can be done with high-tech investments rather than being applied equally to all types of investments. In this regard, in addition to the state's pressure, the capitalists' future foresight is also important." Roboder Chairman made the following statement: "For competitive production, factories and various industries need to combine access to raw materials first, then quality production with good process knowledge, and high-volume production in order to achieve economies of scale. Industrial robots seem to be quite helpful for someone who has access to raw materials and knows their job well to maximize their production volume. It will be possible to see such technologies at Win Eurasia, one of Turkey's most important industry fairs in the international arena. As much as the production power can be transferred from humans and workers to robots and workers, robots that do not have a concept of working hours, do not stop and do not get tired can continue production. When you increase production at least threefold and maybe more without needing much other than planned maintenance, your prices decrease, your quality increases and you can use your lower production costs compared to your competitors while competing." he concluded.
