The sharpest decline in housing sales in a year

According to TurkStat data, housing sales across Turkey decreased by 22.9 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 113,402. Istanbul had the highest share in housing sales with 19,089 housing sales and 16.8 percent. The data was recorded as the sharpest decline in the last year. Mortgaged housing sales decreased by 43 percent. TurkStat published the Housing Sales Statistics, September 2022 data. Accordingly, 113,402 houses were sold across Turkey in September. Housing sales across Turkey decreased by 22.9 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 113,402. Istanbul had the highest share in housing sales with 19,089 housing sales and 16.8 percent. According to sales numbers, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 8,812 housing sales and 7.8 percent share, and Izmir with 6,338 housing sales and 5.6 percent share. The provinces with the lowest number of housing sales were Hakkari with 40 houses, Ardahan with 49 houses and Gümüşhane with 98 houses.
