Musk denies plans for massive layoffs on Twitter

The world's richest man Elon Musk, who is nearing the end of the Twitter deal, is reportedly not considering any major layoffs at the company. Tesla boss Elon Musk reportedly told Twitter employees on Wednesday that he did not plan to lay off 75 percent of the employees if he took over the company. According to Bloomberg, Musk denied previous reports of layoffs in a speech at the company's San Francisco office. However, it was reported that Musk still has a layoff plan at the company. The video Musk shared of entering Twitter's headquarters also drew attention. In the video, Musk was seen carrying a kitchen sink in his hand while entering the company's headquarters. Musk used the phrases "When entering Twitter's headquarters - think carefully first" in the post about the video. Musk also changed his Twitter profile to "Chief tweet". The deal is expected to be completed on Friday. It is noted that the $44 billion acquisition of Twitter will also be completed on Friday. Elon Musk, who previously purchased a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, made a $54.2 per share offer in a notice to the SEC on April 14. Twitter also announced in a statement on April 25 that an agreement had been reached to sell the company to Musk. On May 13, Musk announced that the deal to buy social media company Twitter for approximately $44 billion was temporarily suspended, stating that "details of calculations that spam and fake accounts constitute less than 5 percent of total users are awaited." On July 8, Elon Musk announced that he was terminating the agreement to buy Twitter, citing violations of multiple provisions. Musk's lawyers stated in the notice to the SEC that Twitter did not or refused to respond to multiple requests for information about fake or spam accounts on the platform, which are important to the company's business performance. Twitter, on the other hand, filed a lawsuit against Musk for terminating the deal.
