Erdogan Announces Wheat and Barley Purchase Prices

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in a statement at the Cabinet Meeting, "Our producers will receive 9,250 liras of bread wheat and 7,500 liras of barley per ton." President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements about the economy after the Presidential Cabinet Meeting. President Erdoğan said, "We will be the implementers of two concepts. One is stability, two are trust. We will build the Century of Turkey with stability and trust." President Erdoğan said, "We will resubmit our constitutional amendment proposal that we brought to the agenda before the elections to the discretion of the Parliament." Stating that they are determined to remove the problem of high cost of living and exorbitant prices caused by inflation from the nation's agenda in all its dimensions, Erdoğan said, "Just as we previously reduced inflation to single-digit figures, we will succeed in doing the same again, God willing." President Erdoğan said, "We will pay the salaries and holiday bonuses of our retirees before Eid al-Adha." President Erdoğan said, "Healing the wounds of the earthquake is our main agenda item. We will build 650 thousand houses, 319 thousand of which will be built in the first year, and reunite earthquake victims with their homes." 2023 wheat and barley purchasing prices have been determined Stating that the new harvest season has started in many provinces, Erdoğan continued his words as follows: "We made our producers happy by announcing our fresh tea purchasing prices at the beginning of last month. Today, we determined the 2023 wheat and barley purchasing prices of the Soil Products Office. While determining the prices, we took into account the creation of stocks needed for food security regarding costs, domestic and foreign market developments, as well as the continuation of production of our farmers. We have decided on the purchasing prices of our Soil Products Office as 8 thousand 250 liras per ton for bread wheat and 7 thousand liras for barley. In addition to these prices, all producers registered in the farmer registration system by our ministry will be given a grain production premium support of 1000 liras per ton for wheat and 500 liras per ton for barley. With these figures, our producers will receive 9 thousand 250 liras per ton for bread wheat and 7 thousand 500 liras for barley." The following details were shared on TMO's official website regarding the 2023 grain purchasing prices and policies: "1- TMO will carry out purchasing activities in approximately 310 workplaces throughout Turkey and licensed warehouses (230 points) with which a protocol has been signed. 2- Licensed warehousing companies that have signed a protocol with TMO are published on the www.tmo.gov.trinternet address and our producers will be able to sell the products they deliver to these warehouses to TMO as Electronic Product Certificate (ELÜS). 3- TMO will continue the appointment purchasing system that it has implemented in order to prevent our producers from waiting in front of their workplaces for long periods. 4- Purchases will be made 6 days a week, except Sundays, at TMO workplaces. 5- Product price payments will be transferred to the producers' bank accounts within 30 days following product delivery (TMO and ELÜS). 6- In case our producers deliver products to licensed warehouses; 2% withholding tax, 2% SGK premium deduction exemption, 25 TL/Ton transportation support (up to 750 TL), 25 TL analysis support per vehicle, warehouse rental fee support, in addition to zero (0%) interest rate 9-month loan opportunities are available from TC Ziraat Bank and Agricultural Credit Cooperatives for up to 75% of the product price. 7- In order to encourage grain production, our Ministry will provide an additional grain production premium support of 1,000 TL for wheat and 500 TL for barley per ton for sales made to all segments (TMO or market actors) up to the registered production amount to wheat and barley producers registered in ÇKS in 2023. 8- Purchases will be made on a product basis from producers registered in ÇKS for wheat, barley, rye, oat and triticale up to the production amount registered in ÇKS. 9- The Stock Exchange registration fee of the product sold to TMO workplaces will be covered by TMO. 10- No unloading fee will be charged. 11- A Service Fee (1%) deduction will be made in temporary purchasing centers. 12- TMO will purchase grains from commodity exchanges with suitable infrastructure. Producers in workplaces that purchase via commodity exchanges will be able to sell their products to TMO both through the exchanges and directly by coming to their workplaces by making an appointment. Our producers who want to deliver products to the licensed warehouse via the exchange will be able to deliver their products to TMO without making an appointment and sell them to TMO via ELUS. An additional price of 100 TL per ton will be applied to the Bread Wheat price according to its quality (Group 1). In this way, the price of Group 1 Bread Wheat will be 8,350 TL per ton. An additional price of 100 TL per ton will be applied to the price of Durum Wheat according to its quality (Group 1). In this way, the price of Group 1 Durum Wheat will be 9,100 TL per ton. An additional price of 100 TL per ton will be applied to the price of Barley according to its quality (Group 1). In this way, the price of Group 1 Barley will be 7,100 TL per ton." President Erdoğan made a statement, "We have decided to include the dates of June 26-27 (Eid al-Adha) within the scope of administrative leave. Our citizens will have the opportunity to have a total of 9 days of holiday."
