The meeting between the Central Bank of Turkey and the Turkish Banking Union was postponed until June 23

It has been learned that the meeting that Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan was expected to hold on Monday, June 19 with banks that are members of the Banks Association of Turkey (TBB) has been postponed to Friday, June 23. TCMB Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan was expected to meet with TBB member banks on Monday, June 19 to hear the market’s expectations regarding the new economic management and the policies to be followed. According to the information obtained, the meeting in question has been postponed to Friday, June 23. The meeting to be held regarding the technical aspects of the issues that the banks brought up with Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek at the meeting has thus been postponed until after the Monetary Policy Committee meeting on Thursday. The banks’ agenda includes issues such as regulations, the transformation targets introduced by the TCMB, and interest rate limits on loans. In the meetings held by Minister Mehmet Şimşek with the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TÜSİAD) and the Turkish Banks Association (TBB) on Friday, June 16, details of the economic program and important issues regarding future policies were discussed.
