New collaboration from SASA

SASA will build the world’s largest propane dehydrogenation unit using Honeywell Oleflex technology. SASA will build the world’s largest Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) unit in Yumurtalık, which has the capacity to produce 1 million tons of propylene per year, using the latest generation Honeywell Oleflex technology. SASA Board Chairman İbrahim Erdemoğlu, who aims to make Turkey one of the world’s top three polyester producers and have a say on a global scale, said, “SASA is Turkey’s largest polyester and polymer producer with a sustainable growth perspective. As it has done so far in all Erdemoğlu Holding subsidiaries, SASA will continue to use the world’s latest technologies while moving towards its goals. In this context, we have partnered with Honeywell UOP Oleflex, which uses the world’s most important and new technologies, in our new facility that we will build in Yumurtalık.” Honeywell’s Turkey, Israel and Central Asia President Uygar Doyuran said: “Our Oleflex technology, which we will use in SASA’s new Yumurtalık facility, will enable Honeywell UOP to produce low-cost propylene using its unique, highly active and environmentally friendly catalyst supported by more than 75 years of innovation in dehydrogenation technology, thus enabling it to participate in the growing propylene market.” SASA’s project will take place between 2023 and 2026 and includes the construction of a PDH production facility with an annual capacity of 1 million tons and a container port.
