Biden supports Turkey's NATO visa to Sweden

US President Joe Biden announced that he welcomed Turkey’s decision to refer Sweden’s NATO accession protocols to the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Western leaders expressed their satisfaction with Turkey giving Sweden the green light on NATO membership. Biden said, “I stand ready to work with President Erdoğan and Turkey to enhance defense and deterrence in the Euro-Atlantic region.” The US State Department also announced that they openly support the sale of F-16s to Turkey and will continue to support Turkey’s European Union ambitions. NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg had stated, “I am pleased to announce that President Erdoğan has agreed to submit Sweden’s accession protocol to the Turkish Grand National Assembly as soon as possible and to work closely with the Turkish Grand National Assembly for approval.”
