Minister Bilgin's statement on minimum wage

Minister Bilgin, in his speech at the Planning and Budget Commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, reminded that last year, when the deputies asked for 5 thousand, they made 5 thousand 500 liras, and said, "This year, rest assured that we will realize a minimum wage that eliminates the effect of inflation that regresses the real wage." He also provided information about the minimum wage in his speeches at the Planning and Budget Commission in the parliament during his ministry's budget discussions. Bilgin reminded that they will convene the commission in mid-December and that last year, when the deputies asked for 5 thousand, they made 5 thousand 500 liras. Stating that although there was no regulation to protect wages against inflation in July, it became clear that intervention was necessary when the picture of the erosion in real wages was seen, Bilgin said, "We will do the same thing now. I don't know what your expectations are, but rest assured that we will realize a minimum wage that eliminates the effect of inflation that regresses the real wage." Bilgin said, "We will realize this with the help of the members of the public, but everyone should know that we are starting the job with a social state sensitivity that will protect the workers of Turkey against inflation." There are 1.5 million EYT employees Bilgin, who said that they will not be able to lift the age requirement regarding those who are stuck at retirement age, said, "(EYT) If we lift the age requirement right now, there are approximately 1.5 million people who have the number of premium days and service period." Stating that the studies on EYT have been completed, Bilgin also conveyed that the study will be presented to the Parliament in December. Stating that they are considering changing the working conditions of contract personnel and have completed the study, Bilgin said, "I estimate that we will put it into practice next week or this month and make them permanent."
