We meet at 'Asgari'

Meetings for the 2024 minimum wage will begin on December 11. Over the last 50 years, the ratio of the minimum wage to the national income per capita has fluctuated from 80 percent to 40 percent today. The new year's minimum wage is expected to be determined after 4 meetings by the end of December. The high rate of those earning wages around this level is also striking, as is the minimum wage. While the rate of minimum wage earners is 4 percent on average in the European Union, it is between 60-70 percent in construction, ready-made clothing and furniture in Turkey. When those earning slightly above the minimum wage are taken into account, approximately 7 million of the 17 million workers receive the minimum wage. The prevalence of the minimum wage level, which is also related to the expansion of the pie, and its becoming a target wage are also discussed. There is also a negative psychological effect of getting closer to the minimum wage in the wage scale.
