Low liquidity in global markets

In global markets, transactions are taking place in a low liquidity environment due to the Christmas holiday. While US markets are returning from the Christmas holiday; Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Hong Kong will continue their holidays. In the UK, markets will be closed for trading due to the Boxing Day holiday celebrated after Christmas. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 and China's CSI 300 fell, while liquidity is low due to the holiday in other countries. The decline in the Chinese Stock Exchange was affected by the fact that China Satellite Communications shares lost 8.5 percent, the biggest drop in eight months. The decline in the company's shares occurred after it announced that a satellite failure could lead to an asset loss of approximately 260 million yuan. On the other hand, the shares of gaming companies in China outperformed the general index after the government announced that it planned to buy back shares of a number of companies following the recent restrictions imposed on the sector. While US futures and bond yields were flat, the Bloomberg Dollar Index was slightly negative.
