Lightning meets with Yellen

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek met with his US counterpart Janet Yellen in Sao Paulo, where the G-20 meetings are being held. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen met with Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek and Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan on the sidelines of the G-20 in Sao Paulo. According to a statement from the US Treasury Department, the meeting discussed “the ongoing development of Turkish economic policy, including the mission to combat inflation.” Regional issues such as efforts to combat money laundering, combating the financing of terrorist regimes and implementing sanctions were also discussed.
