Full capacity plan at China's largest iPhone plant

The Zhengzhou factory, China’s largest iPhone facility, is expected to resume full production between late December and early January. New developments are expected regarding the strict COVID-19 measures implemented at Apple supplier Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory. According to a report by Reuters, citing close sources, Apple’s largest iPhone factory is expected to resume full production between late December and early January. The sources said that November production at the factory, where about 70 percent of iPhones are assembled, may have been affected by more than 30 percent. Foxconn declined to provide details about the impact of the disruption on production plans or financing. What happened during the restrictions? Workers at the factory, which was disrupted ahead of the Christmas and Chinese New Year holidays, were seen leaving their dormitories in the early hours of November 23 and scuffled with security forces. Another video showed several people in white overalls beating a person lying on the ground with sticks. Some protesters were also seen throwing stones at a police car. According to a witness, the protests began over unpaid wages to workers and fears of the spread of Covid-19.
