Minister Karaismailoğlu: We will build the 3rd runway in Esenboğa

The government will renew the Esenboğa Airport’s operating tender on December 20, 2.5 years before TAV’s term expires. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu told Bloomberg that the tender to be held on December 20 will determine the 25-year operating period starting from 2025. Karaismailoğlu said, “There is a 200 million euro investment to be made there. With the tender, we will say, ‘You will make this much investment and what will you give me when you operate here for 25 years?’” Noting that the company that wins the tender will have made preparations by the time TAV’s operating term expires, Karaismailoğlu added, “We will build a third runway at Esenboğa. An additional tower will also be built and the old runway will be repaired.”
