Erdogan: 800 thousand passengers will arrive in 24 minutes per day

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in his speech at the Kağıthane-İstanbul Airport Metro Opening Ceremony, “Thanks to this metro line with a daily capacity of 800 thousand passengers, it will be possible to reach Istanbul Airport from Kağıthane in 24 minutes.” President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the Kağıthane-İstanbul Airport Metro Opening Ceremony. In his speech at the Kağıthane-İstanbul Airport Metro Line Opening Ceremony, Erdoğan said that he was excited, happy and proud to bring a new work of historical importance to Istanbul. Wishing that the 34-kilometer, 8-station metro line starting from Kağıthane station and extending to Istanbul Airport would be beneficial for Istanbul and the country, Erdoğan noted the following: "Thanks to this metro line with a daily capacity of 800 thousand passengers, it will be possible to reach Istanbul Airport from Kağıthane in 24 minutes. In order to put our metro line into service of Istanbul as soon as possible as we promised, we used 10 tunnel boring machines at the same time. The construction process of our metro, which has broken many records in itself, is the story of a proud work being brought to our country, full of local and national engineering achievements.
