Moscow Stock Exchange's decision on TL-denominated futures

In a statement made by the Moscow Stock Exchange, it was stated that futures transactions in Turkish lira-Russian ruble and Hong Kong dollar-Russian ruble will start as of March 1. It was announced that futures transactions in Turkish lira-Russian ruble will start on March 1 on the Moscow Stock Exchange (MOEX). In the MOEX statement, it was stated that demand for the Turkish lira and Hong Kong dollar has increased. Therefore, it was noted in the statement that the Moscow Stock Exchange will start futures transactions in Turkish lira-Russian ruble and Hong Kong dollar-Russian ruble on March 1, and that stock exchange customers will be able to access contracts to be made in the said currencies in June, September and December 2023 and March 2024. It was stated in the statement that the application in question will increase the interest of both institutional investors and legal entities in such transactions. MOEX Board Chairman Yuriy Denisov announced in December 2022 that the demand for Turkish lira on the Moscow Exchange increased 17 times in 2022 compared to the previous year.
