NASA Crew-5, which produced food in space, returned to Earth

NASA’s Crew-5, led by SpaceX, has completed its research at the International Space Station and returned to Earth. “This international team performed critical science experiments that will help prepare us for future deep space missions and pave the way for our return to the Moon,” said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson. During their time on the station, the astronauts tested hydroponic and aeroponic techniques to grow plants without using soil, and conducted a range of medical studies, including the production of essential nutrients from yeast-based beverages such as yogurt and kefir.
