Nuclear power plant in the middle of the war has completely stopped

The production activities at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant located in Ukraine, have been completely halted. The Ukrainian State Nuclear Energy Company Energoatom announced that the last operating reactor at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant has been halted. In a written statement, the company noted that all of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant’s connections to the Ukrainian grid were damaged due to the conflict in the region. The statement, which included information that one connection of the plant to the Ukrainian grid was restored on the night of September 11, said, “Thus, electricity was able to be supplied to the plant and it was decided to shut down the sole operating reactor at the plant and place it in the safest ‘cold stop’ state.” Europe’s largest nuclear power plant The Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, located in southeastern Ukraine, is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. The plant, which has six nuclear reactors and a capacity of 5,700 megawatt hours of electricity, provides 20 percent of Ukraine's total electricity. The plant was seized by the Russians on March 4. The plant, which is currently under Russian military control, has been under artillery attack around it. Ukraine and Russia blame each other for these attacks.
