The statement announced that the civil lawsuit requesting compensation filed against the bank in the US on February 17, 2021 was dropped by ruling in favor of the bank on May 2, 2023. Halkbank, however, stated that the legal process regarding the criminal case is continuing with the Second Court of Appeals in accordance with the decision of the US Supreme Court dated April 19, 2023. The statement included the following statements: "In our statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform on February 17, 2021, it was stated that the civil lawsuit claiming compensation filed against our bank in the USA by some complainants was rejected by the US Southern District Court of New York on February 16, 2021. In the said case, the complainants appealed the decision of the US Southern District Court of New York to the United States Court of Appeals, Second Department (Second Court of Appeals) on June 30, 2021. The Second Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the bank on May 2, 2023 and dismissed the civil lawsuit claiming compensation. However, as stated in our statement on the Public Disclosure Platform dated April 20, 2023, the legal process regarding the criminal case continues at the Second Court of Appeals in accordance with the decision of the US Supreme Court dated April 19, 2023.
