With the relevant decree, it has been stipulated that natural gas fee will not be collected from the first bill that will be accrued from April 24, 2023 to May 31, 2023 for natural gas consumption of residences, places of worship, and cemevis subscribers, and that no fee will be collected for consumption of up to 25 cubic meters in the bills that will be accrued for monthly natural gas consumption for the period until May 1, 2024. According to the decision, the natural gas bills collected from subscribers will be canceled and refunds will be made within 3 days. Yılmaz said the following: “We have 19.7 million natural gas subscribers. The number of residences connected to the central system is 2.8 million. We also have approximately 320 thousand prepaid subscribers. We meticulously scrutinized the procedures and principles. We made a regulation that covers all the necessary details so that no subscriber's rights are wasted. Distribution companies will also provide service to our citizens with the necessary sensitivity and care. Of course, we will also follow the process closely. With the free use provided by the presidential regulations and the discount to be applied afterwards, approximately 40 billion TL will remain in the pockets of our citizens.
