Elon Musk is stepping down as Twitter CEO

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has announced that he has hired a new CEO for the company. Musk shared on his Twitter account, "I'm excited to announce that I've hired a new CEO for Twitter. He'll start in approximately 6 weeks." Musk also touched on what his role at the company will be after the new CEO, stating that his own role will be the Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and that he will oversee products, software, and services. While it's understood from Musk's post that the new CEO will be a woman, no name was given. He said he would resign from the CEO position when he found someone "dumb" enough to take on the job. Elon Musk launched a poll in December last year on whether he should resign from his position as CEO of Twitter, and announced that he would accept the results. More than 17 million 500 thousand people voted in Musk's poll. According to the poll results, 57.5 percent of the participants preferred Musk to leave, while 42.5 percent preferred him to continue. Musk has stated that he will step down as Twitter CEO as soon as he finds someone "dumb" enough to run the company, and will then only manage the software and server teams. Some Tesla shareholders believe that Twitter has become a distraction for Musk and are concerned that he is losing focus on his duties at Tesla.
