Kontrolmatik Technology completed 95% of its facility investment in Ankara

The installation of Kontrolmatik Technology’s energy storage facility in Ankara Polatlı is nearing completion. Kontrolmatik Technology General Manager Osman Şahin Köşker said that the annual production capacity of the first phase will be 500 megawatt hours, and that with the completion of the second phase, the production capacity will reach 2.2 gigawatt hours. The company, which also has investments in the field of satellite technologies, aims to reach 300 satellites in earth orbit by 2027. Engineering company Kontrolmatik Technology, which has investments in the fields of industrial technologies, energy storage, transportation, mining, and satellite technologies, announced that they have completed 95 percent of the energy storage investment it will implement in Ankara Polatlı. “The energy storage facility will reach an annual production of 2.2 gigawatts” Kontrolmatik Technology General Manager Osman Şahin Köşker, who was a guest on the Gündem Teknoloji program, explained the process of the energy storage investments as follows: “There was a slight delay in our investment process due to the earthquake. As a company, we actively took part in the earthquake zone. We established living container cities. On the investment side, there were certain delays with the activation of our energy storage facility in Ankara Polatlı, we extended the process by about a month. We are at 95 percent of the installation of our facility in Polatlı, Ankara, and the installation and testing processes are ongoing. In the first phase of our facility, we will have a staff of 200 engineers, and with the second phase, we will have reached a staff of 600 engineers. Our R&D centers in both chemistry and energy storage are separate structures. Our R&D team is located in Istanbul on the chemistry side, and the electronic and mechanical systems department is in Ankara. The production capacity of the first phase of the facility in Ankara is 500 megawatt hours per year, and with the second phase, the production capacity will increase to 2.2 gigawatt hours per year. The capacity of the first phase of the facility in the USA is 3 gigawatt hours per year,” Köşker said, expressing that they did not have any problems in raw material supply. “Lithium prices are increasing again in raw material supply, but it will settle into balance. It is not an element that is difficult to find in nature. Chinese hegemony exists in the entire energy sector, but this will decrease with the implementation of investments in different countries in the coming period. The USA announced a major investment incentive, especially for renewable energy investments, and these are positive developments for the sector.” Regarding investment plans for robotic technologies, he said, “We had incorporated our R&D unit on the robotics side. We have an ongoing investment there. We set out to produce the robots themselves. We made an investment in the production of the mechanical structure of robot arms. Robots that work with humans will increase much more worldwide. I believe this process has just begun. We do business with the Middle East, Africa and the Turkic Republics. Our investments are in Turkey and the USA. We are entering tenders in order to be a stakeholder in renewable energy projects in the Balkans. We are just about to complete our project in Macedonia. We are the contractor of the mobile solar power plant in Macedonia.” “Plan S plans to send 300 satellites by 2027” Köşker, General Manager of Kontrolmatik Technology, described the activities of the satellite and space technologies company Plan S as follows: “We have 3 trial satellites in the sky for imaging purposes. These are testing signal and image processing. Our goal is to reach 300 satellites and create a large coverage area. We plan to provide the internet of things. We manufacture sensors at Kontrol X. "Smart cities, agricultural technologies, logistics and product tracking are the sectors we serve. The data that the internet of things will create is very valuable and we can process it to enable future predictions," he said.
