New governor for Reserve Bank of Australia

Australia has appointed Michele Bullock as its new central bank governor, the Australian Treasury said on Friday. Reserve Bank of Australia deputy governor Michele Bullock has been appointed as its new central bank governor. Bullock replaces incumbent Philip Lowe, whose term ends on August 17. Treasurer Jim Chalmers described Bullock's appointment as "the optimal balance between providing exceptional experience and expertise, while also offering a fresh leadership perspective".
