Türkiye-UAE discuss construction of railway for 3rd bridge

According to Bloomberg, the United Arab Emirates fund ADQ is negotiating a railway project with Turkey for the 3rd bridge. It was reported that the United Arab Emirates and Turkey discussed the construction of the railway line that will pass over the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge. According to information provided to Bloomberg by officials, there was intense traffic at the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications for the Basra-Baghdad-Turkey-Europe railway project, which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan brought up after his return from the G-20 summit and announced that joint work would be initiated with the United Arab Emirates. Within this framework, technical committees discussed the details of the Development Road project. Accordingly, the Abu Dhabi-based fund ADQ, which manages $160 billion in assets, has met with Turkey for the implementation of the railway line in the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge project. A UAE official said in a written statement to Bloomberg, “The UAE aims to increase cooperation with Turkey to increase its foreign trade volume to $40 billion by 2030. This goal will be achieved by establishing new investment channels in energy, logistics, tourism, agriculture and more sectors,” he said. President Erdoğan, in a statement to the media accompanying him upon his return from India last month, said, “On this issue, especially Mohammed bin Zayed made a much more determined suggestion, saying, ‘Let’s not prolong this work, let our friends finish the talks in 60 days and let’s lay the foundations immediately and get going.’ In other words, they are so excited about this work and we have given the necessary instructions to both our Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.”
