Manchester United, which has recently been in the news with the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo crisis, is now on the agenda with sale news. The American Glazer family, which owns Manchester United, confirmed that they may sell all or part of the team. The owners of Manchester United are exploring strategic options that could lead to a complete sale of the historic English football club. In a statement made on Tuesday, the team confirmed that the Glazer family is working with financial advisors on the process, which could also lead to a partial sale of the club or investments including the redevelopment of the stadium and infrastructure. The club was purchased by the American Glazer family 17 years ago. Manchester United's co-chairmen and directors Avram Glazer and Joel Glazer said in a statement on the subject, "As we seek to continue building on the club's successful history, the board has authorized a comprehensive evaluation of strategic alternatives. We will evaluate the best options for our fans." Raine Group is advising Manchester United on the process, while Rothschild and Co. is providing financial advice to the Glazer family. Bloomberg News reported in August that the Glazers would consider selling a minority stake in Manchester United, with the deal potentially worth around €5 billion ($6 billion). In May, Chelsea FC was sold to American billionaire Todd Boehly and private equity firm Clearlake Capital in a £4.25 billion deal. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo parted ways with Manchester United on Tuesday.
