The mandatory delivery period for prepaid housing sales may be extended to 48 months

After the payment of the price in advance or the acceptance of payment in installments, the mandatory delivery period of the prepaid housing, which is the basis of the contract, may be extended to 48 months. With the regulation of the Ministry of Trade, which envisages changes in the regulation on prepaid housing sales published in today's Official Gazette, an amendment was made to the article titled "delivery of the housing" of the said regulation. Accordingly, it will be mandatory to deliver the prepaid housing to the consumer within the period promised in the contract. In any case, this period cannot exceed 48 months from the date of the contract. Before the article provision was amended, this period was specified as 36 months.
