The company’s net profit also increased by approximately 44 percent in the second quarter compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $2.1 billion. Netflix’s net profit in the second quarter of last year was $1.5 billion. The company’s earnings per share also increased from $3.29 to $4.88 in the same period. ​​​​​​​ Netflix’s subscriber count increased by 8.05 million in the second quarter of the year. The company’s worldwide subscriber count increased by 16.5 percent annually, reaching 277.65 million. Netflix, which also announced its estimates for the third quarter of the year, reported that it expects revenue to be $9.7 billion and net profit to be approximately $2.2 billion.
