New package from Japanese government to prevent rising costs

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has asked ministers to prepare a new support package to help the Japanese people in the face of rising living costs. Prime Minister Kishida said in a statement that he has instructed Agriculture Minister Tetsuro Nomura to keep the price of imported wheat sold to domestic flour producers stable starting in October. The prime minister also emphasized in his statement that he has asked Economy Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura to develop a plan to reduce fuel prices starting in October. According to information provided by Cabinet Spokesperson Hirokazu Matsuno, the government will use state reserves of 4.7 trillion yen to finance the package, which is expected to be completed next month and will be prepared to reduce the cost of living for the Japanese people. Matsuno did not provide information on the total size of the package.
