Vice President Fuat Oktay made a statement regarding the earthquake that shook Turkey. Oktay said, "There are a total of 284 deaths, 2,323 injuries and 1,710 collapsed buildings." Vice President Fuat Oktay made a statement following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş. Oktay announced that 284 people lost their lives and 2,323 people were injured. Oktay said the following in his statement: "The earthquake affected 10 of our provinces. From the very first moment, we started to gather at AFAD with all our ministers and made the necessary assignments. Our teams are on the field. We lost 70 citizens in Maraş. We estimate that these numbers will increase. 200 injured, 300 buildings collapsed in Maraş.
