Following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that affected 10 provinces in the European Union (EU) countries and whose epicenter was the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş, it was reported that search and rescue teams are on the way to Turkey. Lenarcic announced that the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, of which Turkey is among the participants, was activated following the earthquake. Noting that the EU Emergency Response Coordination Center was coordinating the dispatch of rescue teams from across Europe, Lenarcic said, “Search and rescue teams from the Netherlands and Romania are currently on the way.” Russia: Search and rescue team of 100 is ready The Russian Emergencies Ministry announced that a search and rescue team of 100 people is ready to be sent to Turkey due to the earthquake, two Il-76 planes. In a written statement from the Ministry, it was stated that upon the instructions of Russian Emergency Situations Minister Aleksandr Kurenkov, a 100-person search and rescue team was prepared to be sent to Turkey. The statement, which noted that two Il-76 planes were prepared for this purpose, also included Kurenkov's assessments. Kurenkov said, "The Russian Emergencies Ministry is always ready to come to the aid of a friendly state whose citizens find themselves in a difficult situation." Instructions from Israel Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen announced that he was "deeply saddened" by the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş and gave instructions for the preparation of an emergency aid program. According to the written statement from the Israeli Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Cohen used the following expressions in his message regarding the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş: "On behalf of the State of Israel, I would like to convey our deep sorrow to the Turkish people for the earthquake that occurred in southern Turkey. Our hearts are with the victims of the disaster; we wish a speedy recovery to the injured." Cohen reported that he gave instructions to his Ministry to prepare an emergency aid program. On the other hand, it was shared that Israeli Defense Minister Yoaz Gallant also gave instructions for the Israeli army and Ministry institutions to provide humanitarian aid. The Israeli Foreign Ministry also shared in a written statement that an emergency meeting was held to assess the earthquake in Turkey. 30-person search and rescue team Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that they will initially send a 30-person civil defense team and 8 specially equipped vehicles to Turkey following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake, the epicenter of which was the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş and affected a total of 10 provinces. According to information received from TRNC officials, the first civil defense team, which will depart for Turkey by ship at 12:00 local time, will be on duty in Gaziantep. The other 10-person search and rescue team from the TRNC will fly to Adana and from there travel by land to Adıyaman to join the work. Azerbaijan had also announced that it would send a 370-person search and rescue team to the earthquake zone.
