According to the first unofficial results after the ballot boxes closed, there will be at least 5 political forces in the 49th parliament with 240 members. According to a poll by Gallup International, the right-wing, pro-EU and pro-NATO Continue Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) coalition won the most seats in parliament with 25.3 percent of the vote. The Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party, led by former prime minister Boyko Borisov, is in second place with 24.7 percent of the vote. The Central Election Commission (CEC) will announce the final results of the election, which saw a turnout of around 40 percent, on April 7.
