BİM: Competition penalty cancellation case rejected on merits

BİM announced that the lawsuit for the cancellation of the competition penalty, which was heard at the relevant Ankara Administrative Court, which has the status of a first-instance court, was rejected on the merits. BİM announced that the lawsuit for the cancellation of the competition penalty imposed in 2021 was rejected at the first-instance court. In a statement made by the company to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was announced that the lawsuit heard at the relevant Ankara Administrative Court was rejected on the merits. In its statement, the company stated that an appeal will be filed with the Ankara Regional Administrative Court, which is a second-instance court, within 30 days to object to the decision. In October 2021, the Competition Authority imposed administrative fines totaling 2.7 billion TL on five chain markets, including BİM, and one supplier company. BİM filed an annulment lawsuit against this decision at the relevant Administrative Court.
