Japan's chip restrictions against China come into effect

Japan has implemented export restrictions on 23 materials used in chipmaking. The restrictions aim to restrict China’s production of high-tech chips for military purposes. Japan’s restrictions on exports of advanced chipmaking equipment to China have gone into effect. According to Kyodo News, Japan’s export restrictions, which it announced would be implemented as part of its efforts led by the US to restrict China’s production of high-tech chips for military purposes, have gone into effect. Japan is subject to licensing for exports of 23 materials used in chipmaking as part of this effort. Around 10 companies in the country that produce these materials are expected to be affected by these restrictions.
