EU prepares new sanctions against Russia and Iran

EU foreign ministers will discuss sanctions against Russia and Iran today. The 9th package of sanctions on Russia, which will be on the agenda at the foreign ministers’ meeting, includes the addition of around 200 companies and individuals to the sanctions list. The foreign ministers of the European Union member states will meet in Brussels today to discuss imposing more sanctions on Russia and Iran and the transfer of an additional 2 billion euros to the fund for arms aid to Ukraine. However, it has been stated that Hungary may veto some decisions at today’s meeting of EU foreign ministers in response to the EU halting some fund payments to Hungary. EU diplomats said in their assessment, “There is an agreement in principle, but at the same time there are still major problems.
