Unemployment in South Korea rises in March

South Korea’s unemployment rate rose to 2.7 percent in March South Korea’s unemployment rate rose to 2.7 percent in March from 2.6 percent in February, government data showed. The country’s labor market has shown some resilience in the past two months after the jobless rate hit an 11-month high in December as the central bank aims to curb inflation amid a global recession. The Korean won was trading slightly weaker against the U.S. dollar at 1,322.7 on Wednesday after the Bank of Korea decided to keep its benchmark interest rate on hold for a second consecutive day.
