Energy protocol discussed with Türkiye in Saudi Arabia

Diplomatic normalization with Iran and energy protocol with Turkey were discussed in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian Council of Ministers discussed developments regarding the agreement reached to resume diplomatic relations with Iran and issues related to the energy protocol with Turkey. According to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the meeting held at the Salam Palace in Jeddah under the chairmanship of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz was also attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Council of Ministers discussed developments regarding the agreement reached to resume relations with Iran and issues related to the coordination of necessary steps regarding the resumption of diplomatic and consular activities between the two countries. The importance of implementing steps aimed at expanding the framework of cooperation that contributes to development, stability and security in the region and strengthening mutual trust was emphasized. The Council of Ministers also authorized the Minister of Energy or his deputy to conduct talks with the Turkish side regarding the energy protocol between Turkey and Saudi Arabia. While the protocol between Saudi Arabia and China in the fields of "clean energy and taxation administration" was approved, the relevant minister was authorized to conduct protocol negotiations with the same country in the field of agriculture.
