The world’s sixth-richest person, veteran investor Warren Buffett, has given away $758 million worth of Berkshire stock. Warren Buffett has given away more than $758 million worth of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. stock to charities, including a foundation named after his late wife. Buffett donated 1.5 million Class B shares to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation and 300,000 shares to the Sherwood Foundation, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and the NoVo Foundation on Wednesday. Buffett made the donation after converting 1,600 Class A shares into 2.4 million Class B shares. The 92-year-old Buffett is the world’s sixth-richest person with a net worth of $110.4 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. While the net worth of most billionaires on the list has fallen amid market turmoil, Buffett has earned $1.5 billion this year. In 2010, Warren Buffett, along with his friends Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates, launched the Giving Pledge, pledging to give away 99 percent of his wealth either during his lifetime or his death. Buffett has already given more than $32 billion in Berkshire stock to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and regularly donates to family members' foundations.
