Hürriyet is closing its printing house in Izmir

Hürriyet Gazetecilik decided to end the printing operations of its İzmir DPC branch. The company laid off 62 employees working there. According to a statement made by Hürriyet Gazetecilik to the Public Disclosure Platform, the company decided to end its printing operations in İzmir as of December 15. The statement also included information that 62 employees working at the facility were laid off. It was stated that 10.18 million TL in severance and notice compensation would be paid to the employees as part of the layoffs. The company stated that this decision was made within the framework of long-term business plans regarding the termination of operations in İzmir, in order to ensure that there is sufficient capacity in other printing facilities, to evaluate contract printing opportunities, to use resources more effectively and to increase efficiency.
