ITO announced the products with the highest increase and decrease in price in June

In Istanbul, the price of lettuce increased the most in June compared to the previous month, while the biggest decrease was in onion. In order to ensure transparency in the markets and to inform the public, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products whose retail prices increased and decreased the most in Istanbul compared to the previous month in June, along with their prices and change rates. Accordingly, while the retail price of 121 of the 242 products in the İTO's Istanbul Wage Earners Living Index increased, the price of 23 products decreased and the prices of 98 products remained unchanged. Last month, lettuce, which is in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits sub-group of food expenditures, was the product whose price increased the most with 62.56 percent. Some of the other products that experienced price increases are; from the transportation and communication expenditures group, intercity bus ticket fee with 32.01 percent, from housing expenditures, fuel oil with 23.81 percent, from food expenditures, green onions with 23.02 percent, tea with 22.50 percent, and from culture, education and entertainment expenditures, match entrance ticket fee with 21.26 percent. Dried onions became 20.82 percent cheaper in June Last month, the price of dried onions in the food expenditures group decreased by 20.82 percent, making it the product with the biggest price decrease. Other products with decreasing prices were peas with 17.62 percent from the food expenditures group, green beans with 16.29 percent, blankets with 15.17 percent from the household goods expenditures group, plums with 9.73 percent, tomatoes with 8.26 percent, strawberries with 7.63 percent, cherries with 7.31 percent, apricots with 7.04 percent and potatoes with 6.69 percent from food expenditures.
